![]() One day it clicked for me. As I was standing in Tadasana or Mountain Pose, I felt engaged with my whole body. From my feet to the top of my head. I felt my breath moving freely through the entire length of my body and my mind was still. If someone was watching me through a window it would appear as though I was just standing around. A common shape. No big deal. What I felt on the inside was very uncommon and something I hope all of my students understand and feel at some point too. The best way I've heard this explained is through the Anusara yoga philosophy of energy loops. One of the teachers at the Maritime Yoga College is Anusara trained and she took the students through this on first day of breaking down poses. These energetic loops in the body have a direct effect on our physical form and give every pose a new life. There's a merger that then happens with the body, the breath and the mind. As Patanjali says "when the asana is performed correctly, dualities between the body and mind and the mind and soul have to vanish". Another reason why there is no need to think you have to look a certain way or obtain an "advanced" asana to proove you are doing yoga. The real yoga is what you can't see.
